PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

GellifiQue® Acrylic Gel is inspired by the hottest product on the market created by "Harmony Gelish Ltd" - "Polygel".

Our product is a fusion between builder gel and acrylic powder tailored to create durable nail enchantments.

This formula comes in a tube rather than a jar or bottle and has a paste like consistency.

APPLICATION ESSENTIALS

• Professional cleanser (not oil based) of your choice used to remove the tacky surface of gel polish. The cleanser is used to sculpt the acrylic gel.

APPLICATION USING A 48W LED LAMP

• Push back the cuticles, file and buff your nails. After filling your nails buff the ridges of the nails. Ensure that the nail surface is even and clean by wiping any residue of the nails with a cleanser.

• Apply Primer on the nail or apply tips and follow with primer

• Apply acrylic gel with nail form to make an extension or if working with tips make an overlay and cure in the LED lamp for 120 second or 3-4 minutes with UV

• Once cured file it into shape of preference and apply a top coat curing it for further 60 seconds with LED or 2 minutes with UV

REMOVAL (soak off)

• Buff away the design or colour and wrap the nail as you would for regular gel polish removal or use a tear off packets used to soak off gel polish. Leave on for 5 minutes or until the colour starts to flake off.

• While soaking off the nails it is important to note that the goal is to ensure that the acetone inside does not evaporate prematurely thus not soaking off the design properly. It is therefore essential to ensure while wrapping that it is done well without any gaps. 

• So for example, instead of wrapping the tinfoil from left to right and then down, instead try wrapping it first down, then left to right .

• Another good tip for faster removal is to keep your hands warm to allow the acetone to work faster. There are many tricks for doing so that you can find online , however caution must be exercised while using these techniques to avoid any burning sensations as acetone combined with heat can cause burning. So please exercise with great care.

• Take a scraping tool or a tool of your choice for removal and remove the colour or design of the nails

• Now, you should see the builder gel underneath, buff the nail once more and wrap again as above. Soak for further 15-20 minutes or less depending on how soft the acrylic gel is now.

• Remove tinfoil or soak off packets and scrape off the remaining acrylic gel of the nail

• Buff with a soft buffer, wipe nails clean and apply cuticle oil

REMOVAL (using a drill)

• It is best to use an E file or electrical file of your choice for this type of removal in order to avoid damaging the skin around your nails while using a regular nail file.

• Using a coarser nail bit put the speed of your drill as high as possible or as high as you are used to and very gently with light pressure in order to avoid any uncomfortable sensations begin removing the design until you expose the builder gel underneath.

• File until you reach 'the soak off layer" i.e. filing off the design and the primary layer of the gel. 

• It is best to remove the gel as evenly as possible and avoid going over the same spots which are ready for the soak off process. 

• Once you have removed the majority of the product and you can see the soak off layer place tin foil as you would for soaking off gel polish. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes 

• Once the acrylic gel is ready for removal, using a removal tool of your choice take off the remaining product

• Buff with a soft buffer, wipe clean and apply cuticle oil.

TIPS

Many nail technicians believe that removing every last bit of the products isn't necessary for a new set. Here is an article on the subject from @Nailsmag.com 

Of course, as several nail techs pointed out, there really is no need to remove a client’s gels unless she is moving and can no longer keep up her appointments. “It is the rare occasion that I’ve had to remove a set of gels, “Wetzel says. “And that’s usually due to moving or finances, not an unhappiness with the gels themselves.”

But if the client isn’t leaving and plans to keep up her appointments, then gradual removal is best. Janice Lonardo, national education director for Star Nail Products, recommends filing the gel product off gradually and then having the client go for a follow-up manicure every week. “Filing them off all at once takes away too much of the natural nail,” she says.

Lonardo says she’s also heard of nail techs who soak cotton balls in acetone and then wrap them around the nails with aluminum foil for about 20-40 minutes. This helps soften the gel, she says, and the rest of the product can then the filed off.

Maggie Boyd, owner of Avante Studio & Spa in Barrington, Ill., also prefers the growing out method. She makes sure to shorten her client’s nails, then thins them out with a file, buffs them, and finishes of with a manicure. Between the filing and growing out process, the gel product should be gone after several appointments, she says.
